Using Refill Map

Is Refill Map free to use?
Yes. Searching the directory, viewing store profiles, and finding stores near you is completely free and always will be.
What counts as a "refill store"?
Any store where customers can fill their own containers with products. That includes bulk food stores, cleaning refill stations, body care refilleries, and low-waste shops that sell package-free goods.
Why are some stores marked "verified" and others aren't?
A verified store has had its details directly confirmed: someone connected to the store has either claimed the listing or replied to confirm hours, products, and BYOC policy. Unverified stores are still real businesses we've found through public sources, but their info hasn't been confirmed by the store itself.
What does the BYOC badge mean?
BYOC stands for "bring your own container." When you see the BYOC badge, the store has confirmed you can refill your own jars, bottles, or bags. Most stores also sell containers if you forget yours.
A store I know isn't listed. What do I do?
Use the List Your Store form to submit it. We'll review and publish within a day or two. If you're not the owner, that's fine — we still want the listing.
Who is behind Refill Map?
Refill Map is an independent, free directory. It is not affiliated with any store, brand, or refill product company. Submissions and corrections come from store owners and visitors. For questions, email [email protected].

For store owners

How do I update my store's info?
Open your store's page on Refill Map and scroll to the footer — there's an "Update this listing" link. The fastest path to instant updates is using an email address at your store's website domain (e.g., [email protected] matches yourstore.com). Other email addresses go to a manual review queue.
How does the verification flow work?
When you submit an update with an email at your store's domain, we treat that as a domain match and apply your changes right away. Updates from generic email addresses (gmail, yahoo, etc.) or addresses that don't match your store's website go to a manual review queue. We review queued updates within a few days.
How can I get my store removed?
Email [email protected] from an address connected to the store and we'll unpublish the listing within 48 hours.
Do you charge stores to be listed?
No. The directory is free for stores and free for shoppers. We don't take payment for placement, ranking, or visibility.
How often is the directory updated?
Store owners can update their own listings anytime. We also run periodic checks to catch closures, hour changes, and new openings.

Privacy & data

Is my email kept private when I submit or update a listing?
Yes. Email addresses are stored only so we can verify ownership and follow up if we have questions. We don't publish them, sell them, or send marketing.
Do you track visitors?
We track basic page views and "get directions" clicks per store so owners can see how their listing is performing. We don't use third-party trackers, ad networks, or fingerprinting. See our privacy policy for details.
Where do photos come from?
Photos come from store owners who upload them through the update form. We don't scrape photos from other sites.
